Board of Directors
The District is governed by a five member Board, whom are elected at large from citizens living or owning property within the District boundaries. Elections are conducted in May of every odd year. The Board conducts monthly meetings at the District's main office, located at 575 Ash. The meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month beginning at 7:00 pm, unless otherwise posted. If there is an item you would like to have put on the agenda, contact the Recreation District Office by the Wednesday before the next scheduled meeting.
NOTICE OF POLLING PLACE ELECTION
CAÑON CITY AREA METROPOLITAN RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT
FREMONT COUNTY, COLORADO
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, and, particularly, to the electors of the Cañon City Area Metropolitan Recreation and Park District of Fremont County, Colorado:
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an election will be held on the 6th day of May, 2025 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. MST. The following polling place shall be: Cañon City Area Recreation and Park District Community Room, 575 Ash Street, Cañon City, CO 81212
At said election, the electors of the District shall vote for: Three (3) Directors to serve a four (4) year term.
The names of persons nominated as Director for a four (4) year term:

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that an eligible elector of said district, for the purpose of said election, is a person registered to vote and who is a resident of the District, or who, or whose spouse or civil union partner, owns taxable real or personal property within the District, whether said person resides within the District or not, or a person who is obligated to pay taxes under a contract to purchase taxable property within the District shall be considered an owner of taxable property for the purpose of qualifying as an eligible elector.
Eligible electors of the CAÑON CITY AREA METROPOLITAN RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT may drop off a voted ballot, beginning April 10, 2025 at the location listed below.

Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. MST
Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. MST
The Office of the Designated Election Official, located at the office of the Recreation District is available upon request in case a replacement ballot is needed at 575 Ash Street, Cañon City. This location is open on the following days in case a replacement ballot is needed from: Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. MST, and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. MST from April 16, 2025-May 5, 2025,
Polling place: Tuesday May 6, 2025, Cañon City Area Recreation and Park District Community Room, 575 Ash Street, Cañon City, CO 81212, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. MST.
Ballots must be received by 7:00 p.m. MST on Election Day, May 6, 2025.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that an application for a mail-in ballot as a Permanent Absentee Voter (PAV) shall be filed with the Designated Election Official no later than the close of business on April 29, 2025. The application is available by emailing khorne@ccrec.org or calling 719-275-1578.
