Board of Directors
The District is governed by a five member Board, whom are elected at large from citizens living or owning property within the District boundaries. Elections are conducted in May of every odd year. The Board conducts monthly meetings at the District's main office, located at 575 Ash. The meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month beginning at 7:00 pm, unless otherwise posted. If there is an item you would like to have put on the agenda, contact the Recreation District Office by the Wednesday before the next scheduled meeting.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an election will be held on the 6th day of May 2025, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. At that time, three directors will be elected to serve 4-year terms. Eligible electors of the Cañon City Area Metropolitan Recreation and Park District interested in serving on the board of directors may obtain a Self-Nomination and Acceptance form from the District Designated Election Official (DEO):

The Office of the DEO is open on the following days: Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The deadline to submit a Self-Nomination and Acceptance is close of business on Friday February 28, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. (not less than 67 days before the election).
Affidavit of Intent To Be A Write-In-Candidate forms must be submitted to the office of the designated election official by the close of business on Monday, March 3, 2025 (the sixty-fourth day before the election).
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, an application for an absentee ballot shall be filed with the designated election official no later than the close of business on Tuesday preceding the election, April 29, 2025.
