Youth Rafting Program

RG RIO and the Recreation District have partnered up to teach area youth between the ages of 15-19 how to raft. No experience is required to participate. You just need to be willing to learn how to raft in the Arkansas River. You will learn different paddle techniques and how to work as a team to navigate the river. All of the instructors are veteran guides on the Arkansas River, the most commercially rafted river in the country. The program will run from June to August. Register today.
AGES:
- Boys and Girls 15 - 19 years old
PRACTICES:
- Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30 am to 12 pm
- All classes will start at the Centennial Park Boat Ramp, unless otherwise noted.
- Classes will be on the Arkansas River through town or at the Canon CIty Water Department Reservoir
COSTS:
- $60 (In-District) $75 (Out-of-District)
- There is also an additional ACA Registration Fee, which is required. See below for additional information

In order to participate in this program you must sign up for an individual membership. You will not be allowed to participate in any activities until this is done. To register follow the link above, select individuals, enter a username, first name, and password, and for the Paddle American Clubs scroll down to Royal Gorge Gargoyles. After that is selected just follow along.
